     in Las Vegas, NV:

 

  .  The meeting was called to order by the chair, Van Snyder, at 3:35PM
     PT, Thursday, May 6, 2004

 

  .  In attendance were M. Ingrassia, J, Larson, B. Long, R. Maine,
     J. Martin, D. Nagle, C.M. North, C. Rasmussen, B. Smith, V. Snyder,
     S. Whitlock

 

  .  Stan Whitlock was appointed acting secretary

 

  .  Moved by Snyder, seconded by Whitlock:  accept the minutes of the
     Fortran US TAG meeting of 4-Mar-2004 as revised on 5-May-2004 -
     passed 11-0 {roll call vote #1}

 

  .  Moved by Snyder, seconded by Long:  J3 US TAG accepts paper
     WG5-N1601 as the Draft International Standard for Fortran - passed
     11-0 {roll call vote #2}

 

  .  Moved by Snyder, seconded by Nagle:  J3 US TAG accepts paper
     WG5-N1602 as the Draft Technical Report on Extended Modules -
     passed 11-0 {roll call vote #3}

 

  .  Moved by Snyder, seconded by Whitlock:  forward the following
     answers to INCITS - passed 11-0 {roll call vote #8}

 

       Motion:  J3 US TAG votes to Reaffirm INCITS/ISO/IEC 1539-2 :1994
                [1999], Information technology - Programming Languages -
                Fortran - Part 2: Varying Length Character Strings,
                Project 1308 .

 

         Question 1:  Are you in favour of
                      * confirmation of the International Standard for a
                        further period of five years;
                      * revision of the International Standard, if YES,
                        please give reasons;
                      * withdrawal of the International Standard, if
                        YES, please give reasons.

          Answer 1:  10 confirmation, 0 revision, 1 withdrawal {roll
                     call vote #4}

 

          Question 2:  If the voting results show a need to revise the
                       standard, are you prepared to participate in the
                       development of the project?

          Answer 2:  0 Yes, 11 NO {roll call vote #5}

 

          FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

          Question 3:  Has this ISO/IEC standard been implemented as a
                       national standard or is it used per se by your
                       national industry?

          Answer 3:  NO

 

          Question 4:  If the response to question 3 is affirmative, is
                       the standard implemented or used without change?

          Answer 4:  N/A

 

          Question 5:  (optional) Please indicate the number of the

     answers to INCITS - passed 11-0 {roll call vote #9}

 

       Motion:  J3 US TAG votes to Confirm ISO/IEC 1539-3:1999,
                Information Technology -- Programming  -- languages --
                Fortran -- Part 3: Conditional compilation, and votes
                to approve the answers to the questions listed below:

 

         Question 1:  Are you in favour of

                      * confirmation of the International Standard for a
                        further period of five years;
                      * revision of the International Standard, if YES,
                        please give reasons;
                      * withdrawal of the International Standard, if
                        YES, please give reasons.
