In Frame 5.5, the "SaveAs a" command in fmbatch is broken in that it acts like "SaveAs t". (I.e. it puts line breaks only at the end of a paragraph instead of at each line). Worked fine in Frame 5.0. This is my Frame support case number 736085, called on 13 Jan 98. Frame support allegedly filed a bug report for fix in the next release (not that that does me much good). The 5.5.3 release recieved Mar 98 doesn't fix it. Thus, the print-txt script won't do what we want. Need to do it one file at a time from the GUI, where the corresponding action does work. How annoying. ---------------------------------------------------------------- A different bug in printing pdf files. I saw this one documented in Frame's newsletter (after I had run into it). If you just print to separate pdf files, none of the links work through netscape. To workaround this, need to have all the files in the book open before starting the print. And it is sure non-obvious how to open all the files in a book. Tried selecting files in the book with all combinations of shift, control, plus the various rodent buttons. Turns out you have to hold down shift while pulling down the file menu. Then you see the "open all files in book" option. Seldom heard of such a silly interface. Why this isn't just another of the menu items you get without the shift, I have no idea, Anyway, do that to open all the files. Then go into print and tell it to print separate pdf files for each file. Well darn, that still doesn't fix it. Oh well.
