Introduction:
 Paper 26-123r3 designated the description of COMPOUND to be:
16.9.59+ COMPOUND(X, N)
  <<Description.>>  Exponential growth.
  <<Class.>> Elemental function.
  <<Arguments.>> X shall be of type real, and must be >=-1.
                 N shall be of numeric type.
  <<Result characteristics.>> Same as X.
  <<Result value.>> The result has a value equal to a processor-dependent
  approximation to (1+X)**N.

UTI 032 correctly pointed out that N should be type integer, not any
numeric type.   Using "numeric type" was an error in the original paper.

Edits:
No edits are needed for the description of COMPOUND as the editor repaired
the obvious mistake.
