1. Introduction

This paper resolves the editorial comments JP-1 to JP-14.


2. Resolution

Comment JP-10 is rejected, as the text is correct as is.

Comments JP-04, JP-08, JP-11, and JP-14 are accepted with modification.

The remaining comments JP-01, JP-02, JP-03, JP-05, JP-06, JP-07, JP-09, JP-12,
and JP-13, are accepted as is.


3. Modifications

JP-04 Also, earlier in that subclause, on line 8 of page 97,
      BNF rule R757 type-bound-procedure-part is poorly typeset,
      and needs to have its horizontal spacing adjusted.

JP-08 There is also a missing hyphen in "zero length character item", in the
      same sentence (change "zero length" to "zero-length").

JP-11 The Result Value paragraphs of two subclauses adjacent to those in the
      comment begin with excessive horizontal space. The affected subclauses
      are 18.11.19 IEEE_MAX_NUM, and 18.11.23 IEEE_MIN_NUM.

JP-14 Instead of merely dehyphenation, it is also better to replace the verb
      "compile" with the noun "compilation".


4. Other discussion.

JP-02 this is not really necessary, but is still an improvement, so agreed.

JP-06 and JP-07 appear in the wrong order in 26-195.


JP-10 is rejected. "assumed character length" is not a special term.
      In the context of character type, "length" is unambiguously
      "character length". We use such phrasing throughout the standard, e.g.
      in "assumed-length character", "assumes its length from its effective
      argument", "the length is that of...", "assumes its length from the
      selector", etc.
      That is, there is no difference between
        - "character entity with assumed length"
        - "entity with assumed character length"
        - "character entity with assumed character length"
      other than verbosity.

JP-12 Changing to the syntax term io-unit would also work.

JP-13 The items in this list are not required to exactly match the subsequent
      subclause title, and indeed do not for item (15) either. But item (5)
      is defective: either "character" and "length" need to be swapped, or
      "Assumed length" needs to be hyphenated. Accepted the JP suggestion.
